"A volunteer is a person who believes that people
can make a difference - and is willing to prove it."
Volunteers
are an essential ingredient in each EHM facility. There are simply
not enough resources to staff at a level to meet all of the needs
for human contact and caring.
Volunteers have demonstrated their commitment in various ways. Examples
of volunteer opportunities include:
Friendly
visitor - reading to residents, helping write letters, playing
games, accompanying residents on walks or wheelchair
rides around the facility
Assisting
at activities
Presenting
programs-entertainment, religious, educational
Professional
inservices for staff
Gardening
and crafts
Clerical
assistance
Assist
residents to and from dining room and activities
The Activity Director in each of our facilities coordinates the
Volunteer program, and can discuss with you the opportunities that
best fit your interests and schedule.
